The Education Department provides dynamic, educational experiences that teach the public about:
School Programs
Students have the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of some of history’s most significant individuals at both Washington's Ferry Farm and Historic Kenmore.
In-School Programs
No Bus. No Fuss. Travel back in time with our costumed interpreters without leaving your school grounds.
Preschool Programs
Group workshops, appropriate for ages 4-5, are fun, interactive, and hands-on. Each lasts approximately 1 hour.
Group Discovery Workshops
Year–round programs for groups of all types such as scouts, home schoolers, summer campers, church groups, etc.
Summer Discovery Workshops
Children, ages 4-10, can connect with history through hands-on participation in fun and engaging activities.
Educational Trunks and Colonial Games
Bring history into the classroom. Pick up a trunk of educational tools at Ferry Farm and return it when you have completed your unit. Lesson plans included.
Travels With George Washington
Explore the world and learn with George Washington. Cut out an image of Washington and take him with you on your trips to historic sites.
